Patrick McCoy
Minister of Music
A native of Petersburg, Virginia, Mr. McCoy is a graduate of Virginia State University where he earned the Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance (2000) and Shenandoah Conservatory of Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia (2005) where he earned the Master of Music in Church Music. While at the conservatory, he studied voice with Metropolitan Opera tenor Michael O. Forest and organ/choral conducting with Dr. Steven Cooksey. In October 2006, Mr. McCoy became Minister of Music at Takoma Park Baptist Church in Washington, DC. He has held similar positions at several other prominent churches including: Covenant Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, VA, where he served as Director of Music/Organist for six years, Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer for five years and First Christian Church for two years. While in Petersburg, he served as Dean of the Southside Virginia Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and a member of the Board of Directors of the Petersburg Boys' Choir. Memorable mentors include: Dr. James F. Peak, Jr., Dr. Ethel Norris Haughton, Dr. Tom E. Lovorn, Mrs. Johnnella L. Edmonds and Mrs. Mattie L. Wilkerson. But above all, Mr. McCoy gives Glory to God for depositing such rich gifts, to be used for His glory and to his mother Velma McCoy-Pulley, the instrument God used for these gifts to manifest themselves.
Most recently, Mr. McCoy taught vocal music at Rosa L. Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville, MD and continues to teach in the Prince George's County Public School System on a substitute basis. He also serves a guest teacher at Beauvoir, The National Cathedral School and works part-time at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He holds memberships in the following organizations: Washington Performing Arts Society, Heritage Signature Chorale, American Choral Directors Association, Music Educators National Conference and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Additionally, he is the Principal Consultant and Founder of Te Deum Arts Management Solutions, a new firm devoted to promoting excellence in the careers of aspiring performing artists and institutions. Carole Powell-Walker
Business Manager
Carole became united with Christ at age five at her grandparents church in the rural area of Clarksville, Va. In her pre-teen years, she joined Takoma Park Baptist Church at age eleven. As a teenager she served by working in the children's nursery during worship service. Some years after college, she served as an Assistant Sunday School Teacher for the high school class. Later, she organized a group "Kids Against Drugs," wrote a musical and raised $500 for the Boarder Baby Program at DC General Hospital. The members of Takoma Park Baptist Church were instrumental in making this project a success. She now raises two blessed children and works part-time here at the church. Carole holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bennett College.

Church Secretary
Lolinda has served as church secretary for sixteen years. She was born and raised in Washington, DC. Lolinda enjoys reading, music, walking, and spending time with her family. Her favorite Scripture is "How can we know the way? Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth and the light.'" John 14:5-6
