"Away Trips"
Away Trips includes things like the
annual ski trip to Bryce Mountain. Each winter the youth of the church go
on an overnight ski trip to a resort in Virginia. Along with the chance to
go out on the slopes, you are also able to take part in times of
fellowship and talking.
In 2002, the Youth Committee sponsored a
weekend trip to New York City where youth and their parents had a chance
to get away and take part in college tours and fellowships with New
York-area youth groups. What did youth have to say about

Cultural Events & Fellowships
Takoma youth participate in many
Washington, DC-area events. The group attends musical concerts at places
such as the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Duke
Ellington School for the Arts. The Youth Choir performs during the
Christmas holiday at the Hospital for Sick Children. They also fellowship
with other youth in the city by attending events at other churches.
Ministry and Missions
Youth have fun together as they take part
in opportunities to give to others. Annual ministry opportunities include:
serving meals at Martha’s Table or downtown mission churches, taking
part in fashion shows to raise money for the Hospital for Sick Children,
and making holiday baskets for distribution in the community.
